1891
Founded in November (Meiji 24) by first-generation Seizo Kawahito, who started sake brewing in Kanonji, Sanuki (Kagawa), and coined the brand name "Kawatsuru."
1937
The company was formally incorporated in December (Showa 12) as Kawatsuru Shuzo Co., Ltd.
1960
Received the Minister of Health and Welfare Award.
1991
Celebrated the 100th anniversary of its founding.
2004
Yuichiro Kawahito became the 6th-generation head brewer and representative director, shifting the brewery's focus toward quality-driven sake making.
2021
Celebrated the 130th anniversary of its founding.
