Established in 1832 in Sakata, Yamagata Prefecture, Tatenokawa made history in 2010 by becoming the first brewery in Yamagata to produce exclusively Junmai Daiginjo sake, a bold commitment that has earned the brand multiple gold medals at the National New Sake Championships and recognition at the International Wine Challenge. Led by sixth-generation brewer Sato Jumpei, the brewery operates under a 100-year vision focused on constant quality improvement and developing employees as well as sake.
