Sakurauzumaki Shuzo was founded in 1871 in Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture, shortly after the Meiji Restoration, and took its distinctive name from a family forest famous for cherry blossoms and a serial novel beloved by the third-generation owner. The brewery upholds the belief that sake is made by the blessings of heaven, earth, and people, drawing groundwater from nearby Mount Takanawa and sourcing most of its rice from within Ehime Prefecture.
