Founded in 1880 in Higashi-Hiroshima City, Kanemitsu Shuzo launched the Kamokinshu brand in 2003 with a renewed focus on handmade sake that carries individual character. Brewing with moderately hard well water low in iron and using Omachi and Hattannishiki rice, the brewery pursues a fresh, juicy style that leads with lively acidity and bright fruit. Despite its relative youth as a brand, Kamokinshu has won Gold Medals at the National New Sake Appraisal and has built a strong following as an approachable everyday sake.
