沿革
- 1751Began brewing sake on the fifth street of Echizen-Ono, under the shop name 'Maruya' and the brand 'Kamenoo'.
- 1944Forced to suspend brewing due to wartime industry consolidation controls.
- 1957Revived the brewery and began producing sake again under the new brand 'Manatsuru'.
- 1989Ahead of other breweries, converted its entire production to premium designated-class sake.
- 1991Began long-term aging of sake in the deep underground tunnels of the former Churyu mine.
- 1995Released what is said to be the world's first sherry-cask-aged daiginjo, drawn straight from the cask.
- 2010The fifth-generation owner, Keisuke Izumi, also took on the role of toji (master brewer).
- 2018Released a 20-year aged sake, among other products.
