Miyao Sake Brewing was established in 1819 in Murakami, Niigata Prefecture, in a region celebrated as one of Japan's finest rice-growing districts, and has upheld the brewery's founding principle of quality above all else across more than two centuries. Shimeharitsuru, whose name evokes the sacred shimenawa rope stretched across hallowed ground, is defined by its light and rich style, a sake with genuine depth of umami that still finishes clean and refreshingly crisp. The brewery's signature Shimeharitsuru Jun, a junmai ginjo brewed with local Gohyakumangoku rice from the Iwafune district and pressed water from the Mimikawa River, stands as the clearest expression of the brand's identity.
