- 1891Founded in November (Meiji 24) by first-generation Seizo Kawahito, who started sake brewing in Kanonji, Sanuki (Kagawa), and coined the brand name "Kawatsuru."
- 1937The company was formally incorporated in December (Showa 12) as Kawatsuru Shuzo Co., Ltd.
- 1960Received the Minister of Health and Welfare Award.
- 1991Celebrated the 100th anniversary of its founding.
- 2004Yuichiro Kawahito became the 6th-generation head brewer and representative director, shifting the brewery's focus toward quality-driven sake making.
- 2021Celebrated the 130th anniversary of its founding.
