고토 슈조텐은 1788년부터 야마가타현 오키타마 지역에서 사케를 생산해왔으며, 벤텐이라는 이름은 창립 당시로 거슬러 올라갑니다. 초대 경영자는 교토 진기칸으로부터 벤자이텐 여신을 모시는 오키쓰시마 신사의 이름을 사용할 허가를 받았습니다. 벤텐의 모든 제품은 도쿠테이 메이쇼슈로, 일반 식탁용 사케는 생산하지 않으며, 야마가타에서 개발한 데와산잔 등의 쌀 품종을 중심으로 준마이와 준마이 다이긴조 등급에만 집중합니다. 여러 벤텐 제품은 인터내셔널 와인 챌린지에서 금메달을 수상했습니다.
