Shibata is a brand of Nippon Seishu, the first sake brewery established in Hokkaido, founded in 1872 in Sapporo shortly after the northern island was annexed, making it a pioneer of sake production in Japan's frontier north. The Shibata label features sake brewed with rare Hokkaido-grown Ginpu rice and the brewery's naturally soft water, producing a clean, well-rounded style with a mild finish.
