Founded in 1837 near Ogaki Castle in Gifu Prefecture, Miwa Shuzo draws its identity from the historic battlefield of Sekigahara, reflected in the Kessen Sekigahara brand name. The brewery is best known for its specialty in nigorizake, which accounts for roughly 90% of production, while the Kessen Sekigahara line branches out with aromatic ginjo expressions brewed from locally grown Hidahomare rice.
