Miwa Shuzo was established in 1837 in Ogaki, a city in Gifu Prefecture historically known as the Water Capital for its abundant natural springs, and once served as a domain warrant brewery for the Toda clan. The brewery specializes in nigorizake, with their cloudy sake accounting for roughly 90 percent of production, brewed through a unique process that creates unusually rich, rice-forward nigori distinct from other producers. The Dousan Gin Setsu Hana and Shirakawago labels are the brewery's best-known expressions.
