Sake Brand

Hishimasamue

Hishimasamune is the main brand of Kubota Shuzo in Hiroshima City, a brewery founded in 1868 that draws water from a historic diamond-shaped well fed by the underground flow of the Ota River. The brand's iconic pine-and-diamond logo was designed by renowned woodblock artist Munakata Shiko, a recipient of the Order of Culture. Using Hiroshima-grown Hattan Nishiki rice and the slow, cold fermentation technique traditional to the region, Hishimasamune produces sake known for its crisp finish and gentle ginjo fragrance.
