Yaoshin Shuzo, founded in 1877 in Iwakuni City, Yamagata Prefecture, revived its Gangi label as an expression of the brewery's return to core principles, brewing only pure rice sake across its entire range. The name Gangi refers to the wooden stepped wharves that once lined Iwakuni's waterways, carrying the image of life rising from the water's edge. All products are unfiltered with activated charcoal, preserving the full flavor of freshly pressed sake.
