Fuji Taikan is brewed by Morishima Shuzo in Hitachi City, Ibaraki Prefecture, a brewery founded in 1869 that took its name from the celebrated Japanese painter Yokoyama Taikan, who was a devoted admirer of the sake. The characters 大観 on the label are rendered in Taikan's own hand, and the brand was relaunched as Fuji Taikan on the brewery's 150th anniversary, maintaining a rich, full-bodied style that has consistently earned recognition in national and international competitions.
