沿革

1. 1825A stone lantern preserved at the brewery is inscribed with the year 1825, suggesting the Igaya name already existed by then.
2. 1853Records show sake brewing under the Igaya name in 1853 (Kaei 6), treated as the brewery's effective founding year.
3. 1870The brewery was damaged in the December 1870 Nakano Riot and relocated to its current site.
4. 1901In 1901 the current Kogoi family took over the Igaya name; founder Kogoi Teizo brewed sake using spring water from his family home 'Iwafune,' giving rise to the Iwashimizu brand.
