Tenkyu is the flagship brand of Azuma no Fumoto Sake Brewery, founded in 1896 at the foot of the mountains in Nagai City, Yamagata Prefecture, a brewery proud to brew using only locally grown rice varieties from the surrounding fields. The Tenkyu series was launched in collaboration with Tohoku University of Art and Design, pairing traditional Yamagata brewing with label artwork created by students, and expressions in the range include a shizuku free-run daiginjo made with the local Dewasansan rice.
