Sake Brand

Takanoyume

Yamamori Shuzo began operating in 1887 in Odaka, Midori Ward, Nagoya City, taking over a brewery that had been established during the Edo period. The Takanoyume brand takes its name from the old Japanese proverb ichi Fuji, ni taka, san nasu (first Fuji, second hawk, third eggplant), which lists the most auspicious subjects for a New Year's dream. Brewing is carried out in traditional earthen-walled storehouses with an emphasis on handmade methods, producing sake that pairs naturally with meals.
