Yonetsuru Shuzo has brewed in Takahatamachi, Yamagata Prefecture for over 300 years, serving as the official sake supplier to the Uesugi clan during the Edo period. The Marumasuyonetsuru label was launched in 2012 as a premium flagship for the brewery, which has accumulated more than 30 gold awards at the National New Sake Appraisal and cultivates its own sake rice variety, Kamesui, in partnership with local farmers.
