Named for Uesugi Kenshin, the revered warlord who spent his youth in Tochio and was then known as Nagao Kagetora, Koshinokagetora has been brewed by Morohashi Shuzo in Nagaoka, Niigata since 1847. The sake is drawn from water drawn from the Totorinomori spring, one of Japan's designated 100 finest waters, producing an ultra-soft brew that is dry yet remarkably mellow and clean, shaped by the cold mountain air that turns the brewery into a natural refrigerator each winter.
