Founded in 1615 by a high-ranking samurai family, Kimura Brewery in Yuzawa, Akita Prefecture, has accumulated more than 100 prizes at the Annual Japan Sake Awards since 1911, including nine Gold Prizes in a single decade. Kakuemon is the brewery's artisan label, distinguished by a signature in-house blend of yeasts that yields a floral, fruity character and a smooth, polished mouthfeel.
