Otokoyama Syuzo KK is a sake brewery carrying one of Japan's most historically resonant sake names — Otokoyama — a brand that traces lineage to the Edo period and was historically counted among Japan's three great sake designations alongside Kenbishi and Nanatsuume. The Hokkaido branch of the tradition, established in Asahikawa, uses spring water originating from the snowpack of the Daisetsuzan range and benefits from Hokkaido's extreme cold for clear, crisp fermentation. In 1977, Otokoyama became the world's first sake to win a gold award at Monde Selection, and today the brand is exported to more than twenty countries.
