Tamagawa Shuzo has been producing sake in the Uonuma region of Niigata Prefecture since 1673, making it one of the oldest breweries in an area celebrated for both its rice and its deep winter snowfall. The Tamafuumi brand name, written with a character meaning round flavor, reflects the founding intention of creating sake that brings people together in circles of shared enjoyment. The Honjozo Uonuma Tamafuumi earned a Gold Medal and Trophy at the International Wine Challenge, while a ginjo expression took the highest award at the National Warmed Sake Contest, demonstrating the range's versatility across temperatures and occasions.
