Shinro Shuzo (Kamiro Shuzo) was established in 1909 in Konko-cho, Asakuchi, Okayama, and its brand name Shinro derives from a poem given by a Konkokyo religious teacher at founding, referencing dew of the gods' grace. Operating in the mild Seto Inland Sea climate with access to high-quality Okayama sake rice, the brewery has produced sake for over a century with a stated goal of achieving a smooth, well-rounded umami style appreciated by local and regional drinkers.
