Nancho is produced by Honjozo Shuzo on Awaji Island, Hyogo Prefecture, one of the few remaining sake breweries on the island. The brewery uses 100% Yamada Nishiki rice and has operated a roadside vending machine selling its sake, making it something of a local landmark. The style is known as dry and direct, with a character that softens and fills out when warmed.
