Morohaku is produced by Nishida Shuzo, founded in 1878 in Aomori City — the only sake brewery operating within the city limits. The brewery is best known internationally for its Denshu brand, launched in 1974 with a mission to return sake to its pure rice roots using entirely non-automated, hand-crafted methods; Morohaku sits within this same tradition of all-rice, additive-free brewing that helped put Aomori sake on the national map.
