Ryobanshuzo, founded in 1944 in Hiraizumi, Iwate Prefecture, named its signature brand Kanzan after the mountain name of nearby Chusonji Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The brewery has expanded its range with a sake fermented on wine yeast, marketed under the Kanzan label, setting it apart from the brewery's traditional dry offerings and reflecting the town's deep cultural identity.
