該酒造於1712年（寶永9年）開始在此地釀酒。1907年，町內各酒造合併，酒銘由舊奧出雲統稱「日上郡」之名更改為「政宗日上神」。2012年迎來創業300周年。酒造倉庫建於1712年（寶永2年），位於島根縣南部入口，周邊神話與傳說交織，附近還有一座以商業守護神聞名的小神社。

- 1895The 12th-generation owner Gonjiro received a brewing license when sake production became a licensed industry.
- 1910Three breweries in the town merged to form what is now Hikami Seishu Co., the current company, and the Hikami Masamune brand dates from this period.
- 1962During brewing by 14th-generation Kozo Tamura, a non-foaming yeast strain was discovered that would later become the Association's 'awanashi' (non-foaming) yeast.
- 1966The brewery relocated from its former flood-prone site near the Hii River to its current location.
- 1977The traditional tatara ironmaking process was revived in Yokota, Okuizumo.
- 1987The brand 'Tamahagane', named after the traditional tatara-forged steel, was launched.
- 1996Launched the flagship brand 'Nanakanba', named after the champion racehorse Symboli Rudolf.
