該酒造於1712年（寶永9年）開始在此地釀酒。1907年，町內各酒造合併，酒銘由舊奧出雲統稱「日上郡」之名更改為「政宗日上神」。2012年迎來創業300周年。酒造倉庫建於1712年（寶永2年），位於島根縣南部入口，周邊神話與傳說交織，附近還有一座以商業守護神聞名的小神社。
