Takeshita Honten, established in 1866 in Okuizumo, Shimane Prefecture, brews Miyakonoseihoku alongside its flagship Izumohomare in the mythologically storied Izumo region at the foot of the Chugoku Mountains. The Miyakonoseihoku name draws from the opening line of Waseda University's school song, honoring four successive brewery heads who were alumni of the institution. The brewery's daiginjo expressions are crafted with premium Yamada Nishiki using traditional techniques including drip-pressing through cotton bags.
