The name Kumenoi reflects the local place name of the brewery's longtime home, anchoring the brand in Matsuyama's regional identity. Kumenoi is crafted with long, careful fermentation using Yamada Nishiki and Matsuyama Sanmai rice, and the brand won gold at the National New Sake Appraisal in 2000 and 2003.
