Kinteki Shuzo is a brewery with over 110 years of history situated in the center of Hokkaido, flanked by the Ishikari River to the east and the sacred Mt. Pinneshiri to the west. The brewery draws on snowmelt water from the Tokumiya River, a subterranean source flowing off Mt. Pinneshiri, and combines it with locally grown Hokkaido rice to brew sake that reflects its northern terroir. In 2010, the chief brewer gained national recognition by winning a Gold Prize at the Annual Japan Sake Awards using Hokkaido-grown rice.
