Fujihashi Tousaburo Shouten was founded in 1848 when the founding family relocated from Echigo Province to Fukaya City in Saitama Prefecture and began brewing sake. The brand name Azumashiragiku combines the characters for white and chrysanthemum, representing the clarity and fragrance of the sake, with azuma placing it in the eastern Kanto heartland. The brewery's Taisho-era brick smokestack was designated a Scenic Important Building by Saitama Prefecture in 2013, recognizing the site's architectural and historical significance.
