- 1159The family's traditional ancestor Ito Saemon-no-jo Fujiwara Katsushige is said to have declined to side with Minamoto no Yoshitomo during the Heiji Rebellion.
- 1184In 1184, his son Ito Sakon'e-gon Fujiwara Katsumasa is said to have secretly helped Taira no Koremori flee toward Yamato.
- 1185In 1185, Katsumasa, pursued by Minamoto no Yoshitsune, is said to have fled Ohara in Kyoto carrying the family's ancestral Yakushi Nyorai statue.
- 1186In 1186, obtaining an auspicious 'white cloth' at a market in Omi Hachiman is said to be the origin of the place name 'Ichinuno' and the family crest 'Mokkou'.
- 1740In 1740 (Genbun 5), during the era of the 8th Tokugawa shogun Yoshimune, the sake business was founded in Gujo. The trade name 'Nunoya' and the brand 'Genbun' (named after the founding era) were established; brewing still takes place in the storehouse built at founding.
