Muhomatsu is produced by Muhoumatsu Shuzo, a brewery founded in 1877 at the foot of the Hiraodai plateau in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture, taking its name from the beloved fictional rickshaw driver of the classic novel and film set in the Kokura district. The brewery uses the clear water of the Fukuchiyama mountain system and carefully selected sake rice, fermenting slowly at low temperatures to develop a light, balanced style. Its ginjo sake is characterized by a fruity aroma and clean, crisp finish.
