沿革
- 1854Founded the sake brewing business (under the name of his younger brother Hyoshiro) while serving the Hikone domain.
- 1860After the Sakuradamon Incident, left samurai service to focus fully on sake brewing.
- 1874The second generation head, Kudai Tanai, took over the family business.
- 1959Okamura Honke Co., Ltd. was incorporated in December 1959.
- 1994Celebrated 140th anniversary; began brewery tours and shifted to direct sales.
- 2000Revived the 'Choju Kinkame' label and launched a product line organized by rice polishing ratio.
- 2014Celebrated 160th anniversary; renovated storehouse No. 12 into the restaurant 'Toyosato Hakkogura'.
- 2024Celebrated 170th anniversary; renovated storehouse No. 1 into the restaurant 'Torikame'.
