1996
Received the Kumamoto Landscape Award in recognition of the brewery's contribution to good scenery while retaining its appearance since founding.
2016
The 2016 Kumamoto earthquakes damaged more than 10 storehouses including the Kansei-gura, resulting in the loss of about 4,000 liters of sake.
2018
Received the 30th Anniversary Grand Prize of the Kumamoto Landscape Award.

In March, the 200-year-old Kansei-gura reopened after a roughly three-year renovation as a new hospitality-focused sightseeing sake storehouse.
