沿革

1. 1850In the late Edo period (Kaei 3), Kanehiro, second son of the Shinjo family who served as official sake brewers to the Aizu domain, became independent from the head family and started brewing sake as the first-generation Inokichi.
2. 1858Following the death of the first-generation Inokichi, Endo Kanetane, who married into the family as the eldest daughter's husband, became the second-generation head.
3. 1869After the Kaei-gura brewery was destroyed by fire during the Boshin War, sake production was somehow resumed.
4. 1892A new storehouse (now the Kyo cafe) was completed; it remains the oldest surviving building on the site.
5. 1906A major fire destroyed most of the brewery's storehouses.
6. 1953The family business was consolidated into sake brewing and incorporated as Suehiro Sake Brewery Co., Ltd.
7. 1996The Hakase-gura brewery was completed in what is now Aizumisato, drawing on spring water from Mt. Hakase, and the main brewing function moved there; the same year exports to the United States and Europe began.
8. 2018The Kaei-gura storehouse was designated a National Registered Tangible Cultural Property.
