Temahima is the premium label of Rokkasen, a brewery based in Yamagata Prefecture that takes its name from the Six Immortal Poets of ninth-century Japan. The word temahima means time and effort, with the kanji for hand also embedded in the name, and the master brewer places his own handprint on the label as a mark of personal commitment to the sake within. Temahima expressions using Yamagata-grown Yukimegami rice have earned gold medals at the Zenkoku Shinshu Kampyoukai, Japan's national new sake competition.
