Yoshino Shuzo Co., Ltd. has been brewing in Katsuura on the Boso Peninsula of Chiba Prefecture since 1830, using soft natural spring water from the brewery's own private forest. The Koshifurui brand is built around the Nanbu brewing tradition, aimed at clean, refined sake with little miscellaneous flavor that pairs naturally with food. Now in its twelfth generation of family ownership, the brewery pursues an orthodox, approachable style rather than one defined by dramatic character.
