- 1751Founded in the Horeki era (1751) when first-generation Tohachiro began brewing sake in what is now Aihara, Midori-ku, Sagamihara; said to be the oldest sake brewery in Kanagawa Prefecture.
- 1954Incorporated in 1954 (Showa 29) under 7th-generation head Tashige; the brand was later named 'Iwa no Izumi' after the 8th-generation head Iwao.
- 1996-2000Received five consecutive gold awards at Monde Selection (1996-2000).
