创业于大正4年（1915年）。酒藏位于宫城县最北端栗原市一迫地区，昔称金田村，以优质水源与优良酒米闻名，因此命名为"金の井"。1987年第四代传人三浦幹典入藏，1996年迎入南部杜氏，正式展开精心酿酒之路，并确立了品牌地位。注重酒米的多样性，积极与全国各地农家签订契约栽培，近年尤其专注于使用当地产米酿酒。旗下品牌"绵屋"以能与料理相互映衬、如同餐桌上挚友般的"食中酒"为主轴，持续打磨酒质，致力于酿出既好喝又令人愉悦的日本酒。

沿革
- 1915Founded as Wataya Shuzoten by Junkichi Miura, under the brand name Kanenoi.
- 1971Established the joint bottling plant Sasanishiki Shuzo Cooperative.
- 1973Incorporated as Kanenoi Shuzo Co., Ltd.
- 1996Began nationwide distribution of the Wataya brand and opened a dedicated sales division.
- 1998The brewery's well ran dry due to sewer construction, so the brewery secured the spring water "Kozo Sansui" as brewing water.
- 2004Began contract cultivation of sake rice with local farmers.
- 2011The brewery building was damaged in the Great East Japan Earthquake; released a "Recovery Sake" blending sake scheduled for March shipment.
- 2015Marked the brewery's 100th anniversary and released "Tokubetsu Junmai Wataya Kurazuki Yeast" and "Junmai Kame no O".
