Dainagawa is brewed in Omori-cho, Yokote City, in the snow country of Akita Prefecture, at the foot of Mt. Horoha in the northwestern Yokote Basin, a region with ties to the ancient Shimotsuki Kagura Shinto ritual tradition. The brewery uses clean water from the Dewa Hills and follows the traditional Akita cold-brewing method of the Yamauchi Toji guild, working under the motto sake to intoxicate the heart. The brewers at Dainagawa describe their ambition as crafting sake that inebriates not only the body but the spirit, with the local air and character of Akita enclosed in each bottle.
