Chushingura is produced by Okuto Shoji, a brewery based in the historic port town of Ako in Hyogo Prefecture, an area forever associated with the story of the 47 loyal samurai that gives the brand its name. The brewery sources rice from the surrounding Harima region and water from the Chikusa River, maintaining a strong bond with local agriculture and tradition. Yamahai fermentation underpins key expressions in the lineup, producing firm, layered sake with substantial body and a dry finish.
