Named in honor of Taisho-era writer and wanderer Otochu Omachi, who was celebrated for his love of sake and travel, the Keigetsu brand is brewed by Tosa Shuzo in the mountain interior of Kochi Prefecture's Tosa-Reihoku region. Under new leadership, the brewery pivoted entirely to premium junmai and junmai daiginjo production, pursuing a terroir-driven approach with local Ginnoyume rice grown in the paddies surrounding the 350–600 meter elevation brewery, earning recognition at the International Wine Challenge and Kura Master.
