Tanaka Sake Brewery was founded in 1885 in the Chugoku Mountains of Mimasaka, Okayama Prefecture, near the borders of Tottori and Hyogo, an area known for pure snowmelt water and traditional craftsmanship. The Musashinosato brand takes its name from Miyamoto Musashi, the legendary swordsman who was born in this same region, and the brewery continues to produce sake entirely by hand in the traditional manner.
