沿革

1. 1873Hanzaburo Hayakawa, the founder who had run a rice trading business since the Edo period, began brewing sake in Amagasuka, Yokkaichi in Meiji 6. The flagship brand 'Ten-ichi' was named after the district's 'Ten' (heaven) and the ambition to brew the finest sake under heaven.
2. 1917In Taisho 6, seeking better brewing water, the brewery relocated in its entirety to its current site beside the Asake River, and has since brewed sake using the river's abundant groundwater originating in the Suzuka mountains for nearly a century.
