Kikunotsukasa

Kikunotsukasa Sake Brewery, founded in 1772, is the oldest sake brewery in Iwate Prefecture and an inheritor of the Nambu Toji tradition, one of Japan's most celebrated schools of master brewers. Located in Morioka, one of the coldest cities in Honshu, the brewery draws on frigid winters and soft underground water from the Nakatsugawa River to brew sake with a crisp, clean profile. More than 90% of the rice used comes from locally grown varieties cultivated in the Iwate Mountains watershed.
