Go (互) is a brand born from a collaboration between Kutsukake Shuzo, a brewery with roots in the Genroku period of the late 17th century in Ueda City, Nagano Prefecture, and a group of dedicated sake retailers. Developed over two years and launched in 2006, the name expresses a wish for the shared pleasure of drinking together. The brewery uses locally grown Hitogokochi and other Nagano sake rices with water from the Sugadaira watershed to produce a junmai ginjo noted for its strong umami and smooth, food-friendly character.
