Furin Kazan

Furin Kazan is produced by Taikan Shuzo in Minami-Alps City, Yamanashi Prefecture, and takes its name from the famous battle standard of Sengoku warlord Takeda Shingen, whose domain once covered this region. The brand name, meaning 'Swift as wind, silent as forest, fierce as fire, immovable as mountain,' channels the spirit of Yamanashi's samurai history into its sake identity. The brewery produces a junmai ginjo expression under this label, drawing on local Yamada Nishiki rice and the mountain water resources of the Southern Alps.
