沿革

1. 1889A great flood devastated Totsukawa Village, Nara Prefecture. Naoichi Nishimura, later a founding director of Kinteki, persuaded villagers to resettle in Hokkaido.
2. 1906On September 10, 1906, Naoichi Nishimura, Isaburo Ujigawa and 7 others founded Shin-Totsukawa Sake Brewing Co., Ltd., initially selling sake under the names Toppugawa and Hananoshizuku.
3. 1918In 1918, managing director Isaburo Ujigawa coined the name 'Kinteki' (drop of gold) inspired by the Sakingawa River, and began selling sake under the Kinteki, Ginteki and Hananoshizuku labels.
4. 1932In 1932, a fire starting in the brewery workers' dormitory destroyed roughly 240 tsubo of the boiler room, storage and brewing buildings; reconstruction was completed that October.
5. 1936In 1936, marking its 30th anniversary, the brewery increased production to 894 koku and raised capital to 60,000 yen.
6. 1951In November 1951, the company was renamed to its current name, Kinteki Shuzo Co., Ltd.
7. 1956In 1956, the brewery held a ceremony marking its 50th anniversary.
